Maya Angelou

When I think of death, and of late the idea has come with alarming frequency, I seem at peace with the idea that a day will dawn when I will no longer be among those living in this valley of strange humors.
I can accept the idea of my own demise, but I am unable to accept the death of anyone else.
I find it impossible to let a friend or relative go into that country of no return.
Disbelief becomes my close companion, and anger follows in its wake.
I answer the heroic question 'Death, where is thy sting?' with ' it is here in my heart and mind and memories.'lone swan on shallow orange hue lake

Popular Funeral Readings - Welcome

Welcome to our collection of popular funeral readings, there are some nice simple readings here, we hope you find one that you like and can use, the reading above by Maya Angelou is one of our particular favourites in popular funeral readings because it is very easy to read aloud and can also be read with gestures ...When I think of death....where is thy sting? in my heart..... mind and memories. We have often used this reading as the opening words to a service and it has always been recieved very well.

This collection of popular funeral readings is derived from no source other than our own experiances and data records collected over the years, it is by no means a difinitive list of popular funeral readings but it is valid and it is relevant.

We would really like to hear from you if know of any popular funeral readings that you think should be included in this collection.
